Service Description

In this class we will learn about the Chakras through the lens of Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Kundalini Yoga (KY) is a practice which utilizes Pranayama, asana, movement, stillness, and Mantra to achieve a sense of vitality and clarity. It also tonifies our glandular and nervous systems to meet the challenges of this incredibly stimulating life we live in. In KY class, we will start with some warm ups and go right into a Kriya, which is a set of exercises performed to stimulate, activate, tonify, or strengthen different parts of our body, mind, spirit. They are interesting and fun and challenging at times. It can be like a recipe, you have individual ingredients, which by themselves stand on their own but have one effect, yet when you mix them together, the synergy creates an entirely different experience. After the Kriya, we usually have a period of savasana followed by a meditation which will be either an active meditation or a Pranayama practice. The classes will be 75 min, I intend to start and stop on time. People with no prior KY yoga or yoga experience really can benefit from this, there are ways to modify any actions we take. In the older descriptions of KY, it was said that you had to wear white clothing, sit on a sheepskin, have a head covering, but we are bringing this practice forward and while those practices do have merit and a reasonable explanation for their practice, it is not necessary to follow that to receive benefit from our efforts! Anne Perry is a KRI certified level one Kundalini® yoga teacher, ABMP Certified practitioner, New Hampshire Licensed Structural Integration Practitioner, and Ayuryoga® Instructor. She offers a sincere and modest approach to helping people live a healthier lifestyle.
